The “Moscato d’Asti” is produced in a territory including 52 communes of the provinces of Asti, Cuneo and Alessandria.
It is mainly produced in small companies that transform only the grapes of their own vineyards.
The must has to be polished from the solid particles, refrigerated and kept at 0 C° until the use, which could be of 12/15 months.
Eventually, before being bottled, the must has to ferment and to meet all the requirements of the production rules.
This wine with Controlled Denomination of Origin and Guarantee is one of the most distinctive products of the Piedmontese wine-growing. It has a straw yellow colour more or less intense, a unique musky aroma coming from the grapes of origin (Moscato Bianco, the white Muscat), delicate and intense.
It must be consumed young in order to enjoy the intensity of its aroma.
