The Umeboshi Plum Vinegar is a salted seasoning prepared by pickling the Japanese “Ume” plums with Shiso leaves.
The Ume plums, similar to apricots, grow in the cold regions of northern Japan and are fermented for long period of time.
The juice obtained from these plums has a spicy taste, salty and sour and is used instead of salt.
It is an excellent dressing for cereals, salads, steamed vegetables, but it can also be used to flavour different sauces.
Besides, it is used as ingredient for a beverage that stimulates digestion, to prepare simply add 1 – 2 teaspoons in a cup with boiling water.
Ingredients: 83% of umeboshi (salted Japanese plums), salt, shiso leaves (perilla ocymoides).
